BMW 7 Series Performance & Specs.
The 2026 7 Series gives you plenty of choices when it comes to powertrain. In fact, it gives you all of them. You can go with traditional gas engines, a plug-in hybrid, or fully electric models.
Let's start with the gas cars. The 740i gives you 375 horsepower, and the quickest time you can get is with xDrive at 4.9 seconds for 0-60. The 760i xDrive cuts that time down to 4.1 seconds with a staggering 536 horsepower. In between the two, we have a plug-in hybrid that can use both petrol and battery power: the 750e xDrive. It produces 483 horsepower and goes from 0-60 in 4.6 seconds.
The electric models pack a serious punch. The fastest model by far is the i7 M70, which goes from 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, thanks to dual all-electric motors with 650 horsepower and 749 lb-ft of torque. The other i7 models still impress. The eDrive50 gives you 449 horsepower, while the xDrive60 does 536 for a 0-60 time of 4.5 seconds.
BMW 7 Series Capability.
Electric range matters, and the 7 Series delivers. You get a range of 301 to 314 miles in the BMW i7 eDrive50 and from 296 to 311 miles in the BMW i7 xDrive60. Range goes down a bit in favor of power, with 268 to 285 miles for the i7 M70.
As for the plug-in hybrid, the all-electric range will take you up to 36 miles. Perfect for daily commutes without using gas.
BMW 7 Series Interior.
The BMW 7 Series sedan is BMW's largest sedan with plenty of interior room for up to 5 occupants. Getting inside is special with the available Automatic Doors, which open automatically as you approach.
As for space, you'll find that the i7 models have a cargo capacity of 17.6 cubic feet, and the gas models have 19 cubic feet of trunk space. The Panoramic Sky Lounge LED Roof makes it look even bigger, as it creates an incredible ambiance. It's not just a sunroof, either, as it lights up in different colors.
Rear passengers get C-suite treatment in this vehicle, so it's perfect for those who want to be chauffeured. Passengers sitting behind the front passenger seat can enjoy a comfortable seating position with continuous leg rest thanks to the available Luxury Rear Seating Package. There are even massaging seats. How fancy is that?!
BMW 7 Series Exterior.
The 2026 7 Series makes a statement with its bold yet elegant design. Up front, you'll find the Illuminated Kidney Grille that lights up at night for a dramatic effect. Available crystal headlights add extra sparkle to the front end.
The design stays clean with concealed exhaust and L-shaped lights at the rear, while the available black window trim gives it a sporty edge. As for wheels, you can choose 19 or 20-inch wheels depending on your style preference.
Fan-favorite metallic colors are back like Sparkling Copper, Aventurin Red, Tanzanite Blue II, and Space Silver.
BMW 7 Series Technology.
Technology in the new 7 Series feels like it came from the future. One fun feature is the BMW IconicSounds, which was created by Hollywood legend Hans Zimmer. It creates custom sounds for your electric driving experience. The large BMW Curved Display is like having two screens in one. Equipped with BMW Operating System 8.5, it responds instantly to your touch.
Rear passengers get their own entertainment with the available 31.3" BMW Theatre Screen with integrated Amazon Fire TV. There's even a 5.5-inch touchscreen inside the rear doors, so passengers can control their own climate and seats.
The sound system deserves its own mention. BMW calls it 4D sound with 35 speakers that produce 1,965 Watts. This Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound system is incredible. For the EVs, charging is easy with BMW Charging at home or on the go. The Flexible Fast Charger and adapters for 120V and 240V outlets make it simple. Level 2 chargers are easy to find on the My BMW App.

740i
The 2026 BMW 740i is your most affordable entry point to ownership, allowing you to choose between rear-wheel drive and xDrive. Power comes from a 3.0-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder with 48V mild-hybrid technology.It rides on 20-inch wheels with staggered All-Season Tires. The exterior features Shadowline Exterior Trim and Chrome Accent Finishes, and the inside has Veganza Leather Upholstery. Even though it's the least expensive, it's still a luxury vehicle with Wireless Device Charging and a Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound system.
You also get a Leather-wrapped M Sport Steering wheel, glass controls, and a Full-Color Head-Up Display.
750e
The 750e combines a combustion engine with a 194-hp BMW eDrive motor. It has intelligent drive modes with unique modes for the hybrid system. AC Charging goes up to 11 kW for quick battery refills.The cabin gets upgraded to Extended Merino Leather Upholstery, and you also get the option of customizing it with BMW Individual Interior trim. This is where Iconic Sounds Electric makes its debut, providing unique sounds when driving in electric mode.
760i
This model is one of the best you'll find at your local BMW 760i dealer. The 760i is only available in xDrive and uses a 4.4-liter V-8 engine with mild-hybrid technology for incredible speed and acceleration.The interior is slightly different with Fineline Black Trim with Metallic Inlay and M Stripes. It also adds ventilated seats that come with a massaging function. The Radiant Heating Package includes a Heated Steering Wheel with Front and Rear Heated Seats and Armrests.
i7 eDrive50/xDrive60
These are the first true all-electric motors in the lineup. The main difference between the two is a single motor versus a dual motor setup. Both come with features like the Brake Energy Recuperation System and DC Fast Charging Capability.They ride on 19-inch wheels with chrome accents. The inside features Extended Merino Leather Upholstery with Anthracite Headliner. You also get a Sport Steering Wheel for a more dynamic feel.
i7 M70
The 2026 i7 M70 is the performance king of the lineup. This Motorsport model features exclusive two-tone paintwork that sets it apart. Inside, Cashmere and Merino Leather materials create a special atmosphere.You'll love the M Sport brakes with blue or glossy black calipers with the M logo handling the stopping duties.
