The last time we caught up with the BMW i3, James Franco and Sienna Miller were fawning all over it. Since that time, the i3 has gone and made its way to Europe. As for us here at Grayson BMW, we couldn't be more envious.
Last week, the very first BMW i3 models were released to the EV-loving drivers of Bavaria, Germany. The Bavarian State Chancellery drove off with one, so did the State Minister, and sometime next year, we'll be proud to join the club.
In addition to all the eco-friendly savings that already come standard with the pure-electric i3, BMW will also be doing their part to help their drivers go green at the homestead. As part of their new BMW 360° Electric portfolio, our favorite automaker has teamed up with the gang at SolarCity to offer i3 drivers a 10% discount on the latter's home solar offer.
Those who take them up on it will have their homes outfitted with a solar-powered charging station that will save them even more money when juicing up their new wheels. And in case that still isn't enough to put your worried mind at ease about its driving range, BMW will also be instituting a "loaner" program that will allow you to borrow a gas-powered model if you ever plan on taking a lengthy weekend drive.
Did we mention that the i3 will also come with a range-extending option? The selling points just keep on coming with this one.
So until we learn more about its estimated time of arrival, feel free to learn more about all it will have to offer with a visit to the experts in our car parts department at our dealership here in Knoxville, TN. Trust us, Franco and Miller were fawning for good reason.
