The BMW M2 Competition is Named a 2019 All-Star

Recently, Automobile Magazine announced that the BMW M2 Competition had been named one of their All-Star winners. The decision, according to the writer, almost didn't even require testing the performance coupe over days of on-track driving in the Antelope Valley, with one writer stating that this edition marked a return to form for the M Division.

Another contributor noted that the M2 Competition was a pleasure to drive, even when tested in sequence with the supercars that usually make gearheads gush like this. Featuring a 3.0-liter DOHC 24-valve inline-six engine, the M2 Competition delivers 405 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. The model tested in Southern California teamed that engine with the optional seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission, with a six-speed manual being the standard transmission offered.

Handling is as precise and playful as you want, helping to deliver the agility that you need when you're pushing a vehicle at top speeds around a race course. 19-inch wheels hide sizeable brakes, while the signature kidney grille is wider and enhanced by larger front air intakes.

While there is seating for four inside, you're better off using the back seat for gear and not passengers. The front M Sport seats are 14-way power-adjustable, while the iDrive infotainment system delivers the connectivity and entertainment features today's premium car driver demands.

Considering that only seven vehicles earned 2019 All-Star accolades, the BMW M2 Competition sits in pretty exalted company.
