BMW Plans Sportier Z4 Replacement

BMW's next-generation Z4 will be a more dynamic sports car than previous iterations of the two-seat roadster, say well-placed company insiders.

BMW is aiming to make the next Z4, due around 2015, more agile and sportier to drive, although the character shift will be relatively modest in order to avoid alienating fans of the current sports car.

But the styling of next Z4 will reflect this change, with the long hood of the current model, which can inhibit fast driving, to be shortened. Again, the change will be relatively modest because U.S. buyers like the current model's…

2012 BMW 116d Efficient Dynamic Review

The new BMW 116d Efficient Dynamics is a version of the 1 Series hatchback that will grab the attention of buyers looking to cut their motoring bills.

It averages an official 74.3mpg and emits just 99g/km of CO2, figures that puts it firmly on a par with rivals from the likes of Audi and Volkswagen.

Where the 116d Efficient Dynamics (ED) has the edge on these rivals is power. Its 1.6-litre diesel engine produces 114bhp, compared with the 104bhp of the cleanest Audi A3 and VW Golf. As a result, the 1 Series gets from 0-62mph in…

3 Design F10 BMW M5

As BMW and more specifically the M division continue to refine their product, the skill level required in the enhancement of the automobile manufacturers end result grows almost exponentially. Albeit suspension or engine tuning, long gone are the days of "winging it" in the aftermarket industry. The passion required to create and produce components for these modern machines must equal or surpass that of the originator.

3D Design is no stranger to this process and once again has managed to embellish what many believe is the most exciting mid-size the engineers in Munich have released since the boisterous E39 M5…

Not just a big deal outside of BMW's stable, it is also a huge deal inside the company as it reflects the single most important model in terms of sales and profit.

Just as other brands start to…

2012 BMW X5 REVIEW

MW's latest of its flagship project of producing luxury crossover SUV's has seen the launch of the 2012 X5 BMW, a car with generous features, powerful engines and A list on set of on-road credentials. The California team of engineers had an easier task with responding to the ever demanding motoring industry of new designs ever year. The task was more of a complimentary one with some previous optional features found in the X5 2011 becoming standard features for 2012's X5 series. BMW can afford to grow modestly having worked hard to build the sporty driving dynamics…
