Details on BMW 5-Series Plug-In Hybrid

The autosphere is being slowly infiltrating with rumors and news of a BMW 5 Series plug-in hybrid making appearances not only at the Shanghai Motor Show, but in Frankfurt as well.

On the more fuel-efficient side, a 5 Series plug-in hybrid concept will join its performance-tuned sibling's concept debut in Shanghai. Constructed by BMW Brilliance Automotive (the automaker's Chinese arm) the hybrid concept is based on a long-wheelbase variant of the sedan, and…

Well I know some questions have popped up about the three new lines being offered by BMW as options on the new F30 3-Series. I myself had quite a few questions, and here is a breakdown of what these lines are all about.

First and foremost, these lines are not the only 3 cars we can choose from. A 3-Series can be ordered as is and optioned how you want to option it, just as…

Now, more invigorating horsepower and torque, is available with two new power kits bring crisp stimulating performance to the Ultimate Driving Machine. BMW 135i and 335i Models can now be retrofitted at BMW centers or via the Port Installation Program to an unprecedented level of performance. These new Power Kits ensure that new car buyers and current owners are in for that extra thrill beyond the outstanding performance that can already be realized with these…

BMW is busily drumming up buzz ahead of the launch of the next-generation 3 Series. The company has released a slew of brief videos depicting the sketch work behind the vehicle's predecessors. Unfortunately, there's not much to the short clips beyond some pencil lines and a still image robbed from old PR photos, but the videos do a smart enough job underscoring the evolution of BMW design over the decades. BMW is set?

New 2012 BMW 3 Series Sedan

Later next year, BMW will unveil the next generation 3 Series sedan. Built under the codename F30, the 2012 BMW 3 Series Sedan is currently in the last testing phases with test mules seen both on US and European soil.

The new F30 3 Series Sedan is an evolution of the current E90 bodystyle, but with plenty of design cues from the F10 5 Series. As we mentioned before, the new 3er can be described?

It's true, BMW is phasing out its traditional 3.0-liter inline-six and replacing it with a turbocharged four-cylinder. Across the board, no exceptions, the aspro mill will soon be gone  -- finis, stick a fork in it.

The 2012 BMW Z4 SDrive28i is the first to receive the new four-pot heart, alongside the 2012 528i. We've only driven the sedan at a site far from our slide rules and abaci, but we did recently?

The New 2012 BMW 1 Series M Coupe

The M Coupe is a high-performance model of BMW's already-sporty 1 Series, and will sit at the top of the 1 Series line with a starting price of $47,010.

The M Coupe absorbs the chassis of the BMW M3 with the competition package, but it has been tuned specifically for the slightly smaller 1 Series-based M. It is wider, longer, and lower than the standard 1 Series coupe, but has the same wheelbase?

A Lap of Cayuga Racetrack:

BMW's X3 can post impressive lap times, but it does so only with some prodding. To be blunt, this was the first BMW I've ever driven where I felt slightly out of place on the racetrack. It's also the first BMW I've driven where the engine felt 'faster' than the chassis. That's not to say that the chassis was poor - on the contrary it was perfectly balanced and stiff, only?

Fisker Automotive signs a new engine sharing agreement with BMW. The maker of the recently launched Karma extended-range plug-in vehicle will make use of BMW's newest N20 2.0 liter four-cylinder TwinPower engine which will serve as on-board power generators for Fisker's Nina line of plug-in cars.

The Nina model starts production next year at a Delaware plant previously operated by General Motors. The Nina family will include a sedan, coupe and crossover?

Driving Impressions of the New X3

BMW introduced the new X3 to the world's motoring press at an off road facility known as Painted Rock Farm a few days ago. The new X3 is considered an all-road, all-weather vehicle and what better way to determine whether or not it's still a BMW then to subject to twisty streets, gravel roads, and rutted tracks.

First impressions formed from the passenger seat on the drive from the Fulton County Airport to?
